International Courier for Prescription Medicines Abroad from India: 2026 Guide

Sending prescription medicines from India to family members residing overseas in the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, or UAE is one of the most vital services we provide at Skyforwards. However, international pharmaceutical logistics is strictly governed by customs authorities such as the US FDA, UK MHRA, and Health Canada. Following precise guidelines ensures your parcel clears customs without delay.

1. Essential Documents Required for Shipping Medicines

Before handing over your package to our pickup executive, ensure you have the following 4 mandatory documents ready:

• Original Doctor's Prescription: Must state patient name, exact medicine brand/generic names, exact dosage, and doctor's medical registration number in English.
• Original Retail Purchase Bill / Invoice: From a licensed chemist showing batch numbers, expiry dates, and unit prices matching the prescription.
• Patient's Passport Copy & Visa Copy: Proving destination address matches the recipient.
• Sender's Government ID (Aadhaar / Passport): For Indian customs export declaration.

2. Quantities & Limits Permitted

Customs regulations globally permit personal imports for up to a 90-day supply (3 months maximum) per shipment. Bulk quantities intended for resale without import licences will be seized by destination customs.

3. Prohibited & Restricted Substances

Narcotics, psychotropic drugs, sleeping pills, habit-forming medications listed under Schedule X/NDPS act, and liquid syrups exceeding allowable airline limits cannot be shipped internationally without special permission.
