Shipping to Canada

Many Tamil families live in Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area, and students study across Ontario, British Columbia and Quebec, so documents, food parcels and festival gifts are the most common shipments to Canada.

Customs clearance, public holidays and remote delivery areas can add a few days to the transit estimate.

Popular shipments

  • College admission and immigration documents
  • Snacks, sweets and spice powders
  • Clothes and festival gifts
  • Personal medicines with a prescription

Pickup cities

Doorstep pickup is available from Chennai, Coimbatore, Erode, Salem, Vellore and Puducherry, subject to your PIN code.

Customs, duties and taxes

  • Gifts worth up to CAD 60 each can enter free of duty and taxes.
  • Above that, GST or HST and any duty are charged on the amount over CAD 60 and are usually paid by the receiver.
  • Commercial shipments are assessed on their full value.

Restricted and prohibited items

  • Meat and meat products
  • Fresh fruit, vegetables, plants, seeds and soil
  • Cannabis products, and prescription medicines beyond personal use
  • Weapons and replica weapons

Dangerous goods are refused on every route: loose lithium batteries, flammable liquids, aerosols, perfumes, gas cylinders and similar items. See the full list.

Documents you need

  • A copy of the sender's photo ID, such as Aadhaar, PAN or passport (required for all international courier from India)

Canada courier FAQs

Should I split a large gift parcel to Canada?

No. Customs looks at the value of each gift and the shipment as a whole, and splitting parcels to avoid tax can cause delays. Declare the real value of every item instead.

Can I send homemade food to Canada?

Dry, sealed food without meat, such as snacks, sweets and spice powders, can usually be sent with an ingredients list. Fresh produce and meat are not allowed.

Do you deliver outside Toronto?

Yes. We deliver to addresses in every Canadian province, though remote areas can take a few extra days.

Customs rules change. Information last reviewed 31 October 2026; we confirm the current rules for your shipment before booking.
